The San Francisco Beautiful Board of Directors has selected the Alvord Lake Gardening Work Party to receive a 2008 Beautification Award this year. A group of dedicated volunteers, organized by CVIA board member Karen Crommie, meets at Alvord Lake on the fourth Saturday of every month to plant, weed, trim and sweep.
